Kayaking/Hiking at Santa Cruz Island

We are planning to go back to the Channel Islands next Sunday (March 10th).
At least some of us want to do some kayaking (see this website for more information).
The ferry leaves Ventura Harbor at 9AM on Sundays and we must be there at least 30 min in advance, which means we have to leave KITP around 7:30AM.
The ferry takes about one hour to go to Santa Cruz (Scorpion Beach). From Scorpion Beach the return ferry leaves at 4PM. It costs about 60 dollars.
For those who would join for the kayaking, we are supposed to spend about 3 hours on the kayak and the rest of the day is freetime for lunch, hiking or ...snorkeling.
The kayaking tour itself (ferry ticket not included!) costs 125 dollars.
If you are interested, please add your name below asap, indicating:
-if you want to join for the kayaking tour (125+60 USD) OR only hiking (60 USD)
-if you have a car and how many extra seats you can offer OR if you need a ride
-the number of additional people coming with you

Beach Barbecue

Goleta Beach, a short walk from KITP, has barbecue pits that you can use. Reservations are usually not required unless you have a very large group and need a certain area. Please note: beach bonfires are not permitted anywhere in Santa Barbara County. (They are only permitted in certain places anywhere in California.)

Hiking around Santa Barbara

Sedgwick Reserve, a part of the UC Natural Reserve System, offers public hikes mornings on the second Saturday of each month from fall to late spring, weather permitting. Located in the Santa Ynez Valley, you may choose your degree of difficulty (easy, moderate, or strenuous.) You must register in advance online. This Reserve is unique also as it is the site of the Byrne Observatory, housing a 0.8m telescope, one of those in the Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network.
Hiking info from atomixrays10.
